Jenn Demke-Lange at École St. Thomas d’Aquin
On February 9, 2018 over forty students at École St. Thomas d’Aquin school in Medicine Hat engaged with aritst Jenn Demke-Lange to create three dimensional tiles that explore narratives portrayed in the exhibition The Wild.
Imaginary Anthropomorphic Relief Tiles
Narratives portrayed in “The Wild” exhibition include illustrations of playing make-believe and incorporate characteristics of animals. This workshop will ask students to use their imaginations and choose an animal they identify with to create an illustrated clay tile. Through exploration of various techniques; relief and surface decoration techniques in clay and monoprint image transfers, students will create a magical interpretation of an anthropomorphic creature.
