Jenn Demke-Lange at Nobelford School

On April 19, 2018 TREX Southeast headed to Nobel Central School in Nobelford, Alberta with The Wild artist Jenn Demke-Lange to facilitate a visiting artist workshop with grade 4, junior and senior high students. We had a wonderful time with the super imaginative groups and got amazing results! See workshop description and images below.

Jenn Demke-Lange’s delightful images of childhood include illustrations of playing make-believe as a child, and incorporate aspects of imaginary animal characteristics made visible through illustration. This project asks students to use their imaginations and choose an animal that they identify with to create a painted and collaged self-portrait by incorporating photography, watercolour painting, and drawing to create a magical interpretation of childhood imaginative games.
