Elizabeth Burritt at Drumheller Public Library

April 2013

Elizabeth Burritt travelled to Drumheller, Alberta to conduct a visiting artist workshop with a group of young people and adults at the public library. Participants learn to create a piece based on the artist’s exhibition theme of bridging storytelling, illustration and painting. A hands-on demonstration working with ink and gouache on paper was be given by the artist, who explained her step by step process:

Participants wrote a one line story, and then were randomly given another participants story from which to create an illustration. They used graphite, gouache, and collage on illustration board to create their pieces.

All TREX Visiting Artist Exhibitions are funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
