Tom Willock artist talk at St. Patrick’s Fine Art Elementary
Artist talk with Tom Willock at St. Patrick’s Fine Arts Elementary School in Lethbridge
Two Grade 6 classes and one Grade 3 class, totaling sixty students, participated in an afternoon artist talk on October 22nd with Tom Willock. Students who had previously watched the documentary, Landscape as Muse: Waterton Lakes National Park with Tom Willock were then able to meet the artist and ask questions. Tom talked about his adventures as a landscape photographer and what it means to be an environmentalist. He also explained the difference between digital and film photography, showing examples of both techniques. Students were invited to look through a 8 by 10 camera, use a light board and carry his 70lb camera pack.
